April Chapel Offerings
For the month of April, our offerings are going to the The Foundation for Autism Care, Education and Services. This organization improves the lives of Houston, Texas area children with autism spectrum disorder and their families by providing scholarships for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the most studied and validated therapy available.
Since beginning its life-changing work, FACES Autism has awarded more than $2 million in ABA scholarships to families in need. The goal: to help each precious child better understand his or her world and to function more successfully in it.
Middle School Field Day
Date: Friday, May 1
Time: 8:30-3:15
Location: Concordia Lutheran High School
More info at: TKLS Field Day Website
The Grades 5 - 8 FIELD DAY is a fun day of all kinds of events ranging from track & field, other sport specific skills, tug o war, even art and academics. Preparations have begun in PE classes and we are looking forward to this big day of fun and competition against six other Lutheran schools in the Houston area.
If you know that your student will not be attending Field Day, please send an email to myself and include their homeroom teacher and PE teacher, if applicable. Students not in attendance at Field Day will be considered absent from school that day.
PE teachers have begun having all 5th - 8th graders complete a survey to indicate which events they'd like to participate in.
Field Day Shirt: Because not every student is required to be in PE classes, not everyone has a PE uniform. Trinity Klein has made the decision to have every student wear a new Field Day shirt that is being made. Your Blackbaud account will be charged $10 for the cost of this shirt. These shirts are dress code approved and may be worn to school.
Field Day Permission Form: The permission form linked here must be completed for each student participating in Field Day. If you know your child will not be participating, please notify your homeroom teacher as soon as possible.
Dress Code
The 2025-26 Dress Code Regulations can be found HERE. Policing dress code takes time away from the teaching and learning that we value at Trinity Klein. Please review the dress code linked above and ensure that your student is coming to campus dressed in accordance with those standards each day. We need your help to make our current dress code work!
You can order Trinity Polos or uniform-style bottoms online at Flynn O'Hara Shop or visit their store front in Houston.
5th Grade Homework Expectations
Homework is a very important part of TKLS education. Your child will have homework and quizzes weekly. Our homework calendar will let you know assignments, quizzes and tests that are coming up and when they will be due. Please help your child to get in the habit of carving out time to study and complete homework. We do offer daily study halls for students who find it difficult to complete work or study at home. If assignments are turned in late, you will receive a notification and 10 points will be deducted from your child's grade for that assignment. A link is also located in the Resource Documents section.
How to Access Clever from Home
The easiest way to access Clever (at home OR school) is via a student’s “Clever badge” (a QR code that students should keep in their binder). There is an alternate method if the badge is unavailable. See steps below:
Go to www.clever.com
Click “log in as a student”
Search for “Trinity Klein Lutheran School, TX”
Click “Clever badge log in” (along right side)** (See below if you don’t have a badge or it doesn’t work.)
Hold Clever QR code (should be in students’ binder, on a lanyard) up to your computer camera.
You should now see all of the educational apps that have been loaded for your child. The most commonly used app will be Google Classroom.
**If you don’t have a Clever badge, you can “sign in with Google.” You will use your child’s Trinity email address (firstname.lastname@tkeagles.org) and password. Note that the email address uses the full first name, not a nickname.
**If there is a problem with access in Google Classroom, start by double checking that your child is logged into Google through their Trinity account. (HINT: Look for the profile picture near the nine-dot “waffle” when you are on Google. Many times parents will see that Google has defaulted to their account or to their child’s personal account. Your child’s profile picture for their Trinity account should be their first-name initial. When you hover over the profile picture, it should show your child’s Trinity email address. If it does not show, click the profile picture and click “add account” to enter your child’s information.
